A licence line in the footer is easy to add. Checking it takes two minutes and tells you who can act if a casino stops paying.
Most crypto casinos show their licence at the bottom of the home page. It usually names a company, a regulator, and a licence number. Each of these can be checked.
Find the three details
- The legal name of the company that runs the site.
- The regulator that issued the licence.
- The licence number.
If one of the three is missing, write it down as a gap. A house that hides the company name makes any complaint harder.
Check it at the source
Many licence seals are clickable. The link should open a page on the regulator’s own domain. A seal that opens a page on the casino domain, or does not open at all, proves nothing.
You can also search the public register on the regulator website. Compare the company name and number with what the casino shows. The domain you play on should be listed for that licence.
A licence belongs to a company. If the name on the register and the name in the casino terms do not match, ask support which company holds your funds.
What a licence covers
- The operator has passed the regulator’s checks to get the licence.
- There is a named body you can write to with a complaint.
- The operator must follow the regulator’s rules on games and player funds.
Rules differ a lot between regulators. Some run a formal complaint process. Others give players few tools. Read the regulator’s own site to see what it offers.
Check where you live
A casino licence does not make the site legal in every country. Many licensed houses block some countries in their terms. Playing from a blocked country can void your wins. Read the restricted countries list before you deposit.
